What is Hyperspace Admirals?
Hyperspace Admirals is a fleet-based space opera roguelike in which you command a growing and evolving fleet of space ships in a randomly generated galaxy. Strategic decision-making in fleet-scale battles is intermixed with branching text events and open world map navigation. You'll also manage the name giving admirals that command your vessels. They have unique back-stories, skills and quirks, gain traits throughout the game and overall have a mind of their own. The game is currently in early development.
 
 
When will Hyperspace Admirals come out?
The current goal is to release the game in the second half of 2017.
 
 
 
What platforms is Hyperspace Admirals developed for?
Hyperspace Admirals will initially be released for PC, Mac and Linux. Releases for mobile devices are planned for a later date.
 
 
 
Where can I buy Hyperspace Admirals?
Upon release the game will be available through Steam and most likely through a few selected online retailers as well.
 
 
 
What will Hyperspace Admirals cost?
That isn't decided yet. Most likely around 10 to 20 USD.

You totally can. Once we get there, we'll announce the closed beta on the site. You can sign up then.
 
 
Who is making Hyperspace Admirals?
Hyperspace Admirals is developed by Sleeper Games , consisting of Stefan Widany (design), Rann Lifshitz (code) and Tomasz Bachmiński (code). Further collaborators include Aureliano Candido (design), Ole Toensen (sound design), Norbert Specht (sound design) and Enrico Stenzel (sound design).
 
 
What technology are you using to make Hyperspace Admirals?
Our very early prototypes used the open source ORX engine. We have since switched to Unity 5. The game art is created with GIMP.
 
 
Will Hyperspace Admirals have multiplayer?
No, Hyperspace Admirals will be designed as a self-contained single player experience. Although, we are considering some online-linked features like seeded games and daily challenges.
 
 
What is your stance towards player createt and modding?
Many people in our team have had a great time with creating mods for various games. It goes without saying that we will try to make the game as modding-friendly as possible, mostly through creating a very data driven game engine that can be modified rather profoundly. This will allow you to create your own ships, events and entire game modes. It is likely that we'll release a ship editor at some point.
 
 
Will the game be available in different languages?
We try to design the game in a way that makes integrating new languages relatively easy. However, the game has a lot of text, so localization will still take a lot of time and/or money. So we can't say how far we'll go with that yet.
 
 
Can I make videos about Hyperspace Admirals on Youtube / stream it on Twitch,
and monetize that?
You totally can and we love you for it.
 
 
Why don't you make a Kickstarter like all the other cool indies?
We are currently self-funded and we hope to stay that way. Our budget planing is solid, but if against all odds we happen to run out before the game is finished we might still fall back on a Kickstarter or other ways of funding. We are now broke, but still don't think Kickstarter is a viable option. We pursue other funding sources though.
 
 
 
Can I contribute to the game in another way then?

What's up with this FTL mod you've made?
It's called FTL Captain's Edition. That's what we have been doing before we worked on HA. You can get the mod for free here . There is also a wiki that can give you a good overview of its features. CE is famous for being ridiculously hard, so you better know what you are doing in FTL before getting into it.
